Scuba Diving Requirements in Oklahoma
Oklahoma law does not mandate that scuba divers be certified. However, most experienced divers will tell you that the training the certification program provides is essential. Some companies that provide diving charters and transport may even require divers to be certified or to dive with one of their certified dive guides.
Oklahoma does have a few requirements for both scuba divers and those operating vessels around divers:
- Divers are required to display a red and white Diver Down flag or the blue and white Alpha Flag
- Divers are required to stay within 150 feet of their dive flag
- Boaters and other vessels are required to stay at least 150 feet from dive flags
